Born in Makurazaki, at the southern end of Satsuma, we have grown with
the town honored by the understanding and cooperation of the local
community, beloved by them as Idegoya.
The sound of our plant, the people working there, the smells,
the smoke, the port, the landscapes - these are all the treasures of
Makurazaki.
Tateaki Suisan Co., Ltd. has a history going back more than seventy
years. Along with the skills and experience woven by past managers and
craftsmen, we are a strong company with a history filled with wisdom
and ideas.
The dried fish, or bushi, that we create with the knowledge and
skills of our forebears continues to help sustain Japanese cuisine as
the raw ingredient for broth, or dashi. This dashi is a vital part of
Japanese cooking, a cuisine famed around the world. We hope to do what
we can for Japanese cuisine through even more corporate efforts, based
around the experiences we have accumulated over our history.
“Drawing on our strengths, expanding what is good.”
“Improving our weaknesses, changing them to strengths.”
With these phrases in mind, we shall aim for further
improvements to our skills and quality, contributing to the local
community as we continue walking hand-in-hand with Makurazaki.
